It combines mathematical models of human physiology and pharmacology to create realistic, accurate and dynamic simulations of human response to the drugs, procedures and events most commonly encountered in the anaesthesiological arena. A selection of pre-installed patient models makes it possible to simulate a range of pathological conditions and their effects on drug kinetics and the patient's cardiovascular state. The Study Edition of A-ware focuses on the fundamental principles of clinical anesthesia and includes pharmacological simulations across a range of patient conditions, and a limited number of basic surgical cases. The Professional Edition is aimed at more advanced users and includes a greatly expanded range of surgical simulations, including intraoperative complications and events.
